Lebanese army claims victory...again

Lebanon's army says it has been victorious in the battle of Nahr Al-Bared.

It goes down in history with the Lebanese army's other notable victories:

Victory at Nahr Al-Bared 24 Aug 2007
Victory at Nahr Al-Bared 16 Aug 2007
Victory at Nahr Al-Bared 14 July 2007
Victory at Nahr Al-Bared 2 July 2007
Victory at Nahr Al-Bared 17 June 2007
Victory at Nahr Al-Bared 4 June 2007
Serving tea to invading Israeli soldiers Aug 2006

They achieved victory today by shooting the Fateh Al Islam terrorists in the back. Shooting anyone in the back (they were fleeing) is legal under international law - if you don't count the Geneva Conventions as part of international law.

Let's hope Hariri-puppet and presidential hopeful Boutros Harb gets his way, and makes Hizbollah's fighters join the Lebanese army. Today's victory shows who can really defend Lebanon.

Well done. My heroes.

I advise you to shut the fuck up, this is supposed to be a SYRIAN site yet you keep bashing lebanese, and this is not the first time. Be quiet in the future!

Dont worry anonymous, SASA and the rest of the syrians still cant get over that their troops
HAVE BEEN KICKED OUT OF LEBANON!!!!!

Its a bit like the "baby spitting the dummy out" SYNDROME...

Its funny how SASA mentions about the Army shooting anyone in the back that were fleeing the camp..

Of course Syria has a wonderful history in FOLLOWING THE GENEVA CONVENTION, and being precise in eradicating terrorism...

Who can forget the HAMA MASSACRE back in 1982..
What a bunch of hypocrites....

These posts become hypocritical by the day SASA, but then again what more do we expect from you.

Syria Applaud Army Seizure of Nahr al-Bared
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem was quick to hail on Sunday the Lebanese Army for finally seizing control of a refugee camp from Islamists they had besieged for over three months.
"We congratulate the Lebanese national army on winning this fight against a terrorist group which distracted the Lebanese army from their enemy Israel," Muallem told reporters in Tehran.

The Syrian foreign minister was in Iran for talks with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki and to take part in a meeting of ministers from the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Muallem also reaffirmed Damascus' vehement denial that it had any link to the militant Fatah al-Islam group that had taken over the camp.

"This is rejected. We were the first to announce that Fatah al-Islam are terrorists and its leaders are wanted by our security forces," he said.

Syria dominated Lebanon militarily for almost three decades but pulled its troops out under international pressure in April 2005 following the assassination of former premier Rafiq Hariri in February that year.

The United States has pointed the finger at Syria for the spate of political assassinations that have dogged Lebanon since then although Damascus has always vehemently denied involvement.

The Palestinian refugee camp of Nahr al-Bared finally fell to a mass assault after troops killed at least 37 Islamist militants making a desperate pre-dawn attempt to break the siege.(AFP-Naharnet)
