Condoleeza Rice arrives in Beirut
The US Secretary of State has made a surprise visit - surprise because she was worried about being killed - to Beirut.
She landed in a heavily armed helicopter from Cyprus for talks with Lebanese PM Fouad Siniora where she finally changed US policy by calling for an urgent end to the fighting...as long as the conditions are right. (There has got to be a gentle westerly breeze, Fouad has to stand on his hands, and Condi's plate must have three and a half spoons of hoummous on it. Three and a HALF).
yes. And she tells Sanioura "thank you for your courage" he graps her and kisses both of her cheeks. Very sickening sight
