His Damascene Blog was the only Syrian photo blog. But since Ayman's departure to the US, there's been a paucity of images from Syria.

English photographer John Wreford's been based in Damascus for a few years. Quietly snapping Syrian life, his work's finally got a mass-market outlet on the web.
